Our partners - Shell Australia
Shell is a major energy organisation employing over 3200 people in Australia. The essential products supplied by Shell’s businesses and the jobs they generate in the areas of production and distribution make a significant contribution to the Australian economy.
Shell undertakes a wide range of social investment activities around the world. These activities are driven by a commitment to sustainable development and a belief that long-term success depends on being able to strike the right balance between economic growth, care for the environment and equitable social development. In Australia, Shell partners with community organisations in the areas of environment, education and health, and work closely together to maximise the lasting benefit of the relationship for both parties. Shell Australia supports the Australian Early Development Index (AEDI), an innovative tool that helps communities to assess how children are developing by the time they reach school age by implementing the AEDI in all schools in an area. The results provide communities with a basis for reviewing the services, supports and environments that influence children in their first five years of life. It also provides information for schools and the community to look ahead to the supports that need to be developed to enhance children's capacity to be successful once they reach school. This project is an important plank of Shell’s social investment program and provides critical assistance in implementing the AEDI throughout Australia. >> Click here to visit the Shell in Australia website.
