PLAN AustraliaDigging deep for cerebral palsy research
Cerebral palsy is the most common physical disability in children. As there is no cure for cerebral palsy, prevention and effective management are top priorities.
Integral to these priorities is the Western Australian Cerebral Palsy Register, which is based at the Telethon Institute.
In existence for more than 26 years, the Register allows researchers to monitor the occurrence of cerebral palsy in the State to investigate its causes and evaluate treatment strategies.
PLAN Australia, one of the largest mortgage aggregators in Australia, held a Black Friday quiz night and raised about $5000 for the WA Cerebral Palsy Register.
Barry Harrison, State Manager (WA) PLAN Australia, said the quiz night was the second event held to raise money for the Register. “Cerebral palsy is close to our hearts so we are thrilled to be supporting research which may one day prevent this devastating condition,” he said.
Thank you PLAN Australia for your continued support.

The video, which was partly funded by PLAN Australia, was developed to assist in standardising the recording the clinical features of cerebral palsy to ensure consistency between clinical observers.
