Bruce McHarrie

Member of Executive and Director of Finance and Business Development

Bruce McHarrie joined the Institute in 1999. He was previously an Assistant Director in the Bioscience Unit at Rothschild Asset Management in London and before that was with Coopers and Lybrand, also in London. Bruce has financial and executive management responsibilities as well as develops the Institute’s commercialisation opportunities.

Sash Tomson

Sash Tomson joined the Institute in 2009. He was previously the Executive Director, Corporate Services for the Queensland Department of Child Safety and held senior management positions with the Department of Education and Training and the Department of Emergency Services. Prior to his role in the public sector he was Senior Manager, Assurance and Advisory Services with KPMG, Brisbane. His career has involved providing corporate and strategic services to clients within the public and private sectors and he is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management. Sash has responsibilities for corporate, strategic and company administrative support.

Michael Garlepp

Director of Research and Academic Services

Michael Garlepp joined the Institute in 2008.  He was most recently Professor and Head of the School of Pharmacy at Curtin University of Technology and served as Acting Executive Dean for the Division of Health Sciences for an extended period at Curtin.  Prior to joining Curtin he was a full time biomedical researcher in the Faculty of Medicine and Australian Neuromuscular Research Institute at UWA and has a history of research grant acquisition and research publication.  He is currently Deputy President of the Pharmaceutical Council of Western Australia.  Michael has responsibility for Research and academic services within the Institute.
